Setting Up Your Email

This area is a step by step explanation on how to set up your email with Microsoft Outlook Express.

Setting up your email is easy! Just follow the simple steps below.

  1. Locate your EMAIL NAME, PASSWORD, POP3 and SMTP information that we emailed you.
  2. Open up Outlook Express.
  3. Go to Tools, Accounts.  Then click on Mail tab.  Then click Add, Mail.  The Internet Connection Wizard opens and you are ready to input your email info.
  4. Once Display Name is entered click Next.  On the next screen, you MUST enter your email address exactly how you want it.  johndoe@yourdomain.com (all LOWER case).  Click Next again
  5. Now you are at Email Server Names.  Enter mail.yourdomain.com in the Incoming Mail box.  You may also enter mail.yourdomain.com in the Outgoing Mail box, but it is HIGHLY recommended to use your Internet providers Outgoing Mail server. (You can do this right now by calling the company that provides your internet service and asking them; "What is my Outgoing SMTP for my email?"  They will know exactly what you are talking about and give you something like...smtp.provider.net   Now, you simply enter their mail server name in the Outgoing Mail box.)
  6. Click Next.  You are now at the Internet Mail Logon.  You will see your email name in the Account Name box.  You MUST enter your ENTIRE email address in this box.  Johndoe@yourdomain.com  Next, enter the Password that was emailed to you from us.
  7. Click Next. You are now at the Congratulations screen.  Now Click Finish.  Your back at the Accounts window.  WE'RE ALMOST DONE!  (If you entered your internet providers SMTP in the Outgoing Mail Server box above, you do NOT need to complete the additional steps below.  YOUR DONE!)
  8. Click once on the email name you just completed.  Now double click on Properties on the right of the Accounts window.  In the Properties window, click the Servers tab on the top.
  9. Now, check the My server requires authentication box at the bottom of the window. Next, click on Settings...  The Outgoing Mail Server window appears.  Check the button Logon on using.  Then enter your account name Johndoe (NOT the entire email address)  Then enter your password again.  Click OK then Apply, then OK.
  10. Close the Accounts window and your all set!  Congratulation on setting up your email account!
